MIA
In the midst of the global pandemic, Mia came into our lives. DDWTN rescued her from a kill shelter in TN and she was so timid and shy when she arrived in NH. Every day I am thankful that this big goofy gal is part of our family. Mia loves to cuddle, play in the snow and herd her sister Daisy around the yard. Mia is spoilt rotten and we wouldn't have it any other way!
TORPEDO
I am a person that suffers from agoraphobia and PTSD. I was looking for a puppy to turn into a service dog, I filled out many applications to many sites with no good news. Then one day I got a call from Kathy that changed everything. I was able to get my sidekick Torpedo (Daisy). For the first time I was able to experience going places and enjoying new things. I feel so comfortable and safe
ABBY
Abby (AKA June) was born on Feb 14th 2019. Her mother was thrown over a fence the day before she gave birth in TN. Thanks to DDW Abby made her way to Massachusetts where she is spoiled rotten by my entire neighborhood. We often refer to her as the princes of pilgrim village. Thank you so much for the work you do!
SLIM
On October 3, 2015, I met Slim, a handsome, Redbone Coonhound. I had been looking for a 2nd pup via PetFinder.com. I already had a female, small schnauzer mix, and was looking for a male, adult schnauzer mix. For whatever reason, my search criteria brought me Slim. When I saw the picture of him looking up from his bed, with those big, beautiful, brown eyes and a bright yellow "URGENT" tag
CLEO
I lost my husband in April 2018 and was overwhelmed with sadness. My grief led to me to searching adoption pages and I happened upon a husky mix pup who had been part of a hoarding situation. Charmin was an adorable little ball of fluff, and I was beyond happy when Kathy selected me to be her mom. She arrived in Maine on a sunny day in May and we renamed her Cleo. She is beautiful, sassy, a
PEGGY SUE
Peggy Sue became a member of our family on March 4, 2018. She immediately became a favorite of my mom, who was physically handicapped and blind, and declared Peg to be “the only dog I ever loved.” Until my mom left us in February, Peggy was her constant and devoted companion. Even though we both still miss her, we have a great life together. Retirement suits us both! And a new dog park j
HONEY
I adopted Honey, the Plott Hound from DDWTN in 2013. Honey is my first dog. When I found Honey online, I had never heard of a Plott Hound. I got one glimpse of her floppy ears and her brindle coat and knew I had to have her. I didn’t know much about hounds, and over the years, Honey and her sister, Pia, have taught me so much, not only about hounds, but about life.
Honey loves everyone. Peo
LOUIS
We adopted Louis in the summer of 2019. He is equal parts dog/cat/baby. We are thankful everyday that we were chosen to be his forever family.
PIPER
3 years ago we got Oakley (Piper). He's a guaranteed smile/laugh every single day. He's nothing but love. Thank you so much DDWTN!
